Intellectual Property
Definition:
This refers to intangible property rights such as copyright, patents and trademarks that provide the owner with certain exclusive rights.
Trademark
Definition:
A word, slogan, design, picture, or any other symbol used to identify and distinguish goods.Any identifying symbol, including a word, design, or shape of a product or container, that qualifies for legal status.
Joint Work
Definition:
This is a work prepared by two or more authors with the intention that their contributions be merged into inseparable or interdependent parts of a unitary whole. (See 17 USC § 101. Definitions.15) The authors of a joint work are co-owners of copyright in the work. (See 17 USC § 201(a).16)
